Life Update: Becoming a Parent

As you may have noticed, my writing output on this blog has crawled to a stop. Why? Well, on the 5th of September 2023 my son (first child), Samuel, was born.

I’m in a very fortunate position that my employer allowed me to take four weeks paid paternity leave, which is amazing!

It’s fair to say that those first four weeks were challenging, but they were so worth it. They grow so much in that time, and I was glad to make the most of every day of it.

It’s been an amazing time, and we have received lots of help and support from family and people from our church have been so good to us (providing meals)

It’s fair to say that looking after a newborn is a lot of work and this means that there is not much time for anything else (especially blogging) but I’m hoping to get back into it soon.

As for this blog, don’t worry, I haven’t abandoned it. I have a new set of priorities now, which means I may not get back to posting at the same rate as before.

I do have a few blog posts planned coming up in the next few weeks or so, so keep an eye out for them soon.
